Amazen Tube Smoker issues

I have searched the forum for answers to using the AMNS Tube Smoker but I can't find an answer for my smoker nor can I get this thing to work no matter what I do.  My smoker is has a single propane burner that burns the length of the smoker.  I bought the tube smoker in order to get some smoke but no matter where I put it I can't get any smoke once I light the burner.  I had another burner made so that I can cook by indirect heat, with the flame only going half way across the length of the chamber,  also with the mind set

that if I place the Tube smoker on the side where there is no flame and align it right up under the exhaust tube I would get smoke and that didn't work.  I can place my tube smoker under the flame, over the flame, under the grate but it goes out the minute the chamber heats up.  Should I start drilling holes in my smoker or is my only solution the mailbox mod.  I'm trying to determine if I have a two way issue.  1) the heat is consuming the smoke or 2) lack of airflow.  I usually cook between 225 and 250 degrees.  Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

thank you

What temp are you running the pit at? I can only get mine to work up to 285, but it doesn't go out it ignited the pellets.

It may be that your burner requires too much air and there isn't enough for the tube smoker.

How long do you let the pellets burn before putting it in the smoker?

How are you lighting the pellets?

Im cooking between 225 and 250 and i let the pellets burn 10 minutes before i blow them out. I light the pellets with a propane torch. If its my burner even though its been modified im truly at a loss. Thank you for responding

It sounds like your burner is consuming all the oxygen in the pit. You may need more or larger air intakes. What do you have now?
