I haven't posted here in awhile. Although I LOVE smoking I have been a little busy to put hours into a good cook. My kids have been bugging me about doing some more stuffed burgers. So since I turned the big 4-0 last Saturday, I thought there was no better time. The first time I did these I added a layer of burger to the top to make a complete"stuffed" burger. This time around I decided to do one like Jeff had in one of his newsletters. These had cheese, BBQ and BBQ sauce in them.
I put some rub in the meat and handmade the burger. I then put the bacon around the "wall" and put a toothpick in to hold the bacon
Then I added some cheese(which was in there), some sauce and BBQ
I set my GOSM to med heat. If I had a half decent gauge it would have probably read @ 240-250 degrees. This pic was a little more than half way in.
Then here is the finished product. If you've never tried it you should. These were a hit and my kids were happy. They finished in 1hr and 40 mins. I still could've used a touch more sauce but all in all they turned out good. I sauteed some onions and mushrooms then had some pimento cheese to top them off. I'm always willing to try something different next time.
