My name is tony  from Maine. Have a MB  30" electric. Love it! wanted to start off small.  have smoked ribs twice, brisket and 2 whole chickens!  OMG have come out awesome, i use rub over night then put more on before smoking. i got wood chips from a company here in maine as samples. like the apple wood mostly,  i found a rub recipe from another site that i use,  looking for other rub like savory, any ideas? i dont wrap with foil either, family likes sauce after not using during the smoke wrapped in foil.    love the site btw

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a hot day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Good to meat you Tony - see what I did there?

My neighbors use the same MB you do you and they seem to like it.  I'm currently using a Char Griller Pro Deluxe from Walmart.  It works pretty good.  As far as rubs go, there are tons to choose from.  I've tried Famous Dave's (too salty), Blues Hogg (not sweet enough) and many others.  Then I saw that my local meat shop makes their own called Pop's Authentic Rub.  Its amazing!  The sticker price is $2.99 for the same size container as many other brand going for $10 or more!!!.  Check out their website and give them a call to see if they would ship you some.  Website is here: http://jenningspremiummeats.com/

Glad to have you here.
