I've used london broil, eye of round, chuck tender roast and pork loin but my question is has anyone ever tried using sirloin tip roast? they have it on sale locally this week and it looks like a really lean cut of meat.

SH, Any meat will do, just trim the fat off.

I've used just about every cut you can think of and we use pectoral exclusively now.

I misread what you said the first time I read it and had to read it again.  I thought you said, "I've used just about every CAT you can think of..."  Glad I read it again!

CAT would be a little gamey....

When using beef - I pretty much stick with eye of round.  I make about 15 - 30 batches o jerky per year on my forced air dehydrator.

I also use a variety of wild game including venison, elk, squirrel, turkey, dove, and pheasant.

I also agree with crazymoon - any lean cut of meat will do.
