Memorial Day PPon new XL BGEw/ QView

Wife and kids bought me an Egg for an early Father's Day gift. Decided to smoke a couple butts for its maiden smoke.

Injected with Chris Lilly's Pork Inj, and rubbed with Jeffs rub.

On the Egg at midnight at 225*.

Slept in the garage to keep an eye on temps.

Pulled them off after 16 hours. Also had on some ABTs and Stuffed Sausage Shooters to snack on while the butts rested.

All in all, came out great. The Egg was a beast and held a steady temp all night, just as advertised. My only complaint, I think the butts took too much smoke. Outside of wrapping, I'm not sure how to control smoke exposure on an Egg.

Thanks for looking,
Chris

Congrats on the new cooker, looks like lots of room for all those eats.  Everything looks great, good luck with your new egg, and good smokin'.

Welcome to SMF!

Not familiar with the Egg, but there is nothing wrong with foiling at 165. Cooks faster.
