Hello,
I paid to have a pit made for me 5 years ago and have always pit bbq'd although really only ever successfully made anything with indirect cooking.
I finally broke down and had my pit added onto to make an offset smoker. I have never smoked anything and have attempted twice but failed in maintaining optimal temps for more than 30 mins so here I am now.
I now live in southeastern New Mexico originally from Texas. I cookout for fun and hope to eventually get good enough to cook for small parties.
My pit is 29" in length at 16" wide and offset is 21" in length by 14" wide. The offset only has a large side door for loading with a vent built in.
Glad to be a member on the forums, I will definitely browse to try and gain knowledge and hope to enjoy cooking soon.
