Nothing special...just another pork butt. LOL

16 hrs. on this one overall.  Put in at 10, went to bed and when I got up it was coming out of the stall.

Finished at 2 p.m. and then into the cooler.

Rubbed with Pork Barrel BBQ All American Seasoning and rub.  I didn't really care for the rub myself.  Seemed like it had

too much celery seed in it or something.

Smoked with Cookin' Pellets Perfect Mix.  Tray was totally burned when I got up so I finished the last few hours with Apple chips.

How do you like the Perfect Mix? I don't know if you used Todd's Pitmasters Choice and if you have do you prefer one over the other?

It wasn't too bad..overall a milder flavor.  I would use it again.  It seems pretty comparable to Pitmaster's Choice.  In reality, I think once you start mixing 3 or 4 different types of wood, it's hard to tell

any kind of difference from one to the other.  Personally, I prefer straight hickory for most things, but the wife doesn't like that strong of a smoke flavor.

Traeger pellets are two thirds Oak or Alder and one third the flavor on the bag. Over a year ago I got the Pecan when it was on sale for $14/20lb. bag and was really happy with the flavor so I just picked up Apple a couple pf weeks ago at the same price. I'll still get pellets from Todd our sponsor but like to buy locally too.

Smoker Daddy Pellets are 70% wood and 30% charcoal blend that will burn a bit hotter to help prevent the smoker pellets from going out like other distributors pellets sometimes do (which I have experienced) plus helping to give you a smoke  ring, so they say. I haven't tried them yet, but will try one blend in the near future to just see what they will do.
