Thanks for adding me to your site, I have been reading a lot lately since I just purchased a new Oklahoma Joe Highland horizontal smoker. I have experience with a small smoker (little red as I call her - bullet smoker) but not the larger ones like I just purchased.
Live in Princeton, Tx - 40 miles north/northeast of downtown Dallas
Made some mods to the smoker out of the gate based on what I have read and watched on you tube:
RTV sealant for leaks
Nomex gasket around main barrel door and fire box door
Dyer vent from chimney down to grate/cooking level
Look forward to reading the wealth of information on this site and participating where appropriate.
