Hello all,

Just picked up a used old model GOSM 3605g and this looks like the place to find info on smoking me some meat!!!!

Have played around with one of the older brinkmann bullet ones but always a pain to load everything from top so found this one and hopefully will be alot easier.

Hello and welcome Ron, you'll find plenty of folks on here

that will be happy to help get you started in the right direction.

Glad you found this place.

Thanks all,

Gonna do a few mods I have found here and hopefully smoking by the weekend.

Welcome! My GOSM is going strong and it's 10 years old. Best mod you can make is to add a needle valve. It will allow you far better control of the temps.

Here's one that will work:

Then buy yourself one of these from Todd at AmazeN Smokers. The tubes work great in the propane smokers as long as your pit temp is below 285°. http://www.amazenproducts.com/

Hey dirtsailor,
Guy I know at work found an older GOSM, Hardly used in a garage he cleaned out 4 years ago. It's an insulated stainless steel one I believe that was sold at Sam's Club back in like 2006 ,2007 . It looks to be 16 ,or 18 inches wide. It has the 3 vents and the knob you turn to ignite the burner instead of the button. The chip tray looks heavy duty and I think they have a round pan inside not a square one.. 4 racks and drip pan looks clean.I saw the pics. It looks real clean. If this is an all original thick wall SS GOSM and it works good, how much could he get from someone that was looking for that one? I know they went for like $300 and I have heard up to $400. This definitely isn't a Wally World model.. Sam's or Bass Pro for sure.
I might buy it myself and want to pay what they were worth slightly used. I was thinking $150.00. Also does anyone know if there's a special model number for those that might tell its age or that it was before Landmann took over? I'm pretty sure they didn't make the insulated stainless steel after Landmann took over.

The only downside to the smoker I can see is that they were the 16" ones and note wide or BB models..

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a cool, foggy and damp day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
