So I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

I've been making my own jerky for about 13-14 years now, and I'm upgrading to a new dehydrator this week. Also, last summer I got a smoking deal(pun intended) on a combo gas/charcoal grill with an attached gas ring and an attached smoker, so I will be exploring that end of meat smoking as well.

As for me, I like to get out in my Jeep when I can, and I'm a prod father of two stepsons, who have recently graduated from high school, and a 7 year old daughter who continually impresses me with her capacity for learning and her desire to do so.

Hello and welcome to you.

It would be hard for me to decide which one I like

more my Jeep ( '97 Wrangler ) or my smoker.

Not a rock crawler but we have lots of dirt roads

and trails around here.

Welcome from north Idaho. You also have a great Mexican resturant there, the red iguana:)
So where in North Idaho? Lived in Lewiston for a year(Lived down in American Falls, by Pocatello from 6-14, minus that year in Lewiston), and I got to see a lot of the northern part of the state when I was there. The further north you get, the more gorgeous it becomes. :-)

Yeah, I currently just have a '92 Cherokee, which is fun, but not being able to take the doors and top off and not having the footprint of a Matchbox car is noticeable. I had a '92 Wrangler for awhile, but my P.O.S. '77 CJ-5 is the my most favorite. The lift was some homemade job, none of the gauges worked, and I had 5" of play in the steering wheel, but that thing got me anywhere i needed to go, warts and all. :-)
