Hello all,
I'm in Cleveland, a place not known for que. I was raised on my uncles smoked pork. He's from the tidewater area in Virginia, a peculiar region for que.

I've got a basic smoker- the $50 Home Depot type. Out of sentiment I'm waiting for it to die before upgrading. Probable to a Webber that will offer a bit more control.

I have done poand picnic shoulder lots, dabbled with chicken and I've started tinkering with brisket.

Look forward to sharing with you all.

Sounds like your doing alright with your $50 smoker, great way to learn.

Welcome from SC. It's good to have you on this great site. BTW, there is no place that's not right for good BBQ.

Good luck and keep on smokin', Joe

Welcome to SMF  best site on the web.  Nothing wrong with cheap smokers or grills, I have cooked a lot of stuff on both
