To make welding that "bar strap" a bit easier, think about drilling 1/4 or 5/16" holes through the tank, between the hinges, where the strap will go....  Place the strap inside the cook chamber and blind weld it in place from the outside...   Maybe you could drill the holes under where the door seal fits the CC....

Man...I love this lil cooker. Worked like champ tonight. Once it gets up to heat it help temp all day / night. Put it work today with a 3 lb brisket and some ABT's and corn. First time I had Atomic buffalo turds...they we're eaten faster than I could grab an after pic of them. Neighbors stopped by and ate them up! The brisket turned out suprisingly good. I was shocked. It fell apart, and honestly I about ruined it. I went about my day and smoked it at 225 for about three hours, was getting a nice bark on it, so I took its temp. It was 190+ degrees already! and hard a rock. I wrapped it tight and slow cooked it the rest of night with some corn and the abt's. So, I was surprised to see how tender it was. No need for a knife, it fell apart...So, being that I never cooked a brisket before, my family was impressed as I was. Next time it will just be better, that 3lb chunk just hit its temp much sooner than I thought.

As it was cooking, I decided my shelf was too small and built a swing out extension for it to give some extra room. I also made a handle out of wood because I leaned the handle got HOT and was hard to move without searing your hand.

But. I tell you what it was something else eating smoked goodness on something I made myself.
