Hi all,

I not long bought myself a Pit Barrel Cooker and have so far really enjoyed the pork ribs and lamb shoulders cooked on the PBC. I'm keen to learn and understand more about smoking meat. I'm from Essex in the UK, just outside of London

Thanks

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folks here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  Couple other good threads to help you get started included.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Danny

@SmokinAI, thanks

@Smokin Monkey
, the Smokes Weekend looks great - I will check my calendar

It is a really good weekend. No pressure, no competion or judging, just like minded people getting together for a good weekend.

The format is, arrive if you can on the Friday, get to know members, have a beer and a chat. We set the cooking pitch up with gazebos, fridge, smokers/BBQ etc.

Saturday is business day! If you are cooking come along to the cooking pitch and do your thing, or simply come along have a chat see how things are done and ask questions, it really is a relaxing day, and of course have a beer! Then around 18.00 all food is ready and put out onto the serving tables for all to share and try.

Would be good to have you along, there is already a number of new members attending for the first time. This will be the third year so there is no regulars and newbies!

  Good morning and welcome to the forum, from another cloudy and rainy day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
