So the weekend cook of brisket and pork is over. I noticed, what appears to me, to be sone paint coming up close to the firebox. Good, bad, both? I don't know. Do I clean the smoker and reseason? Any advice is appreciated. It's a brinkman tmle. I have a baffle plate. Thanks

Hello.  The picture is hard to see.  So what you are saying is the paint is bubbling up on the exterior of your smoker?

IF that is the case this is no surprise.  Brinkman and others use VERY cheap paint and not much of it.  If that is the case you have 2 choices:  Fire fight.  Sand/wirebrush the area and touchup the paint or 2: sand/wirebrush the entire smoker back to bare steel and repaint 2-3 coats with a quality high temp paint.  So long as the paint problem is on the exterior (no paint should be inside the smoker) the food will not be affected.  Either option SUCKS!  But there it is.  Keep Smokin!
