Greetings from CHI Town! I've been a long time 'lurker' reading all about smoking meat, building smokers, and just enjoying all the topics & posts for a while now. I am a Noob when it comes to smoking but have attempted to do some using my grill, ( a Masterbuilt barrel grill btw). I have had some success with ribs & chicken while trying my version of "Low & Slow", lol. I even managed to turn out a decent Turkey for Thanksgiving one year, all though it was cut in half. Thanks to the folks here I learned of the preseason deals that were going on and managed to grab myself a 18.5" WSM on clearance at Wally world for $100 off! I couldn't resist any longer and had to try my hand at using a real smoker. Hope to be able to contribute to the site and nice folks here, as well as learn a lot more. Thanks for taking the time to read my long winded post!

Welcome Tim and hi from another Chicago area smoker - NW burbs.  A lot of inspiration, advise and temptations to be found here.
