The 16 year old Weber Silver Genesis is finally going beyond the point of repair. It has been great after 8 years on my deck in New Hampshire (Snow, Ice, Black Flies..), and another 8 on my patio in Florida (Sun, Rain, Lizards). I had my heart set on replacing it with another Weber, but the comparable current model (E 210) is +\-$400 it seems, and it sounds like it's no longer made in the U.S. So I ask...has anyone got a good quality grill that you can point me at? The deal is it needs to be propane, so not looking for Green Egg or other charcoal model. I have a pretty nifty smoker that I use already, but this guy is going to be for steaks and burgers and week nights. I'd like to buy one that will last as long as the last one...
I figure this bunch will know their way around a BBQ so any feedback is appreciated!

I don't know too much about gas grills, but a good buddy bought a Char-broil Commercial 3 burner gas grill from Lowes for 300.00ish and he loves it. He's way more OCD than me and claims flare ups never happen and it's easier to clean. It makes good steaks! If that is too much $ Broil-Mates seem to be a common gas grill in my neighborhood. Good luck!

I have a Weber too, they last a lifetime & replacement parts are readily available. You will probably buy 2 or 3 gas grills in the time it will take a Weber to wear out.

I am with Al! It's worth the extra money to just purchase a Weber. By your own example, the first one lasted 15+ years. You can pay $200-300 for a thin/ flimsy grill that will probably be rusted out in 2-3 years and not perform as well as a Weber. Or for twice the price buy something that performs amazingly and will last 3-4 times as long. I definitely understand if you want to spend less than that. If so, check out Craigslist or maybe even the the Weber q1000 or 3000 series. They are smaller but are built solidly and perform just like the larger Weber gassers. Plenty big enough for week night meals!

Thanks for the feedback all. We decided to bite the bullet for the Weber Spirit E210. From the many reviews I have read it is not likely to last as long as my Silver Genesis did, but at least I will have ready access to replacement parts!

Good call I purchased a weber spirit 210 several years ago and it has been a great grill, very pleased with it!!!  A buddy of mine has purchased 3 grills in that time frame. You get what you pay for!!!

A Kalamazoo Hybrid is the last Gas Grill you will ever need. Primarily a Gasser but can also burn Wood, Charcoal or any Combo of the three.. Rick Bayless has had one on the patio in Chicago for many years. Of course at 15 to 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS, I would expect it to last a couple of Generation!!!...JJ
