Perfect day for a smoke, and trying out pecan wood vs the normal hickory ive used thus far. Also, got a digital thermometer finally as been going off the MB one in the door...so giving that a whirl too. Heres a bit earlier, about to go on smoker.

Temps have stayed pretty steady around 225 to 230. Wood chunk caught fire twice but didnt go above 245 heres thermometer...not ideal but home depot lacked selection and needed one today

Looks good to me! None of the stores in my area carry them. Points

Nice tri tip,it's a great cut! I like to mix cherry with my pecan it's a great combo on everything!

Hi!

Those beans look fantastic! Any chance of getting my hands on the recipe???   Pretty please????

Nice looking cook, DocHo! I've had one in the freezer for a couple of weeks now waiting for decent weather and a weekend off. If you want a tri-tip around here you have to have one cut. They don't stock them at the grocery. I'm going to do it this weekend!
BTW, I've been getting by just fine with a couple of those Maverick single probes...
