I have 3 barrels and I do not know how to tell if they are galvanized or steel. Can somebody please help me out?

Not sure that I've ever seen a galvanized barrel, but they may exist. Rub your fingers on the metal. If you get a light grayish silver residue on them that would be galvanized. This isn't a definitive test though.

Post some photos so we can see what you have.

I think I figured out what I have after doing some research. Every barrel created is suppose to have a UN mark on the lid. I found a site that shows you how to read the UN mark so you know exactly what kind of barrel you have and the year it was made (http://www.labelmaster.com/un-markings).

Now that I know what I won't kill me, it's time to get creative and have some fun.
