40" MES sitting on wood?

Hello all quick question does anyone have their MES 40 sitting directly on wood such as a deck or wooden cart. I'm wondering if I need to add a piece of cement board under it. I'm about to mount mine to a wooden flat cart I got last year when a moving company was going out of business. I knew it would come in handy one day today's the day lol.

That box I cut a 8 x 8 square out, from under were the center drain is. That enables me to use a throw away pan in the box.

That's a good idea. I didn't cut my cart at this point and I did mount right to the wood but if I add paver block user it I could gain the room for a throw away pan.

I set it up so the door opens just about fully before it touches the hand rail. This should help prevent wind from catching it or me leaning into it at least the rail stops / supports it.

That will work. Mine were on the wood balcony and now on a plastic utility cart...JJ

I also left the room up front of the cart to possibly mount a mail box mod later this year.

Richie I used your idea and raised it up enough for a throw away pan. Also helps get some air flow under there. Just got to have my wife give me a hand lift the unit off so I can drive to stainless screws into the deck as a rear stop for the pan.

Mine sits on Wood boxes I made for chainsaw carving, but I have a sheet of Aluminum on the top box, under the Smoker.

However I put that on because it was Free, and it makes it easier to wipe up spills & drippings.

I'm sure setting it on wood is fine, as others (above) do it all the time.
