The wife and I have decided to go to Kansas City for the first time to stuff ourselves on some good BBQ. I have heard rave reviews about Joe's (The place with the gas station), but I would like the opinions from the BBQ masters on this forum because I trust the people on here know good food.

Have not been to KC but want to go for the same reason. Also like to catch a Royals game...from what I have heard they serve BBQ at the stadium.

Only secondhand knowledge but I hear Joes is great. Make sure to post some reviews of wherever you go!

There are many great BBQ places in Kansas City, of coarse that is what they are known for. For traditional and famous BBQ you need to go to Gates BBQ and Arthur Bryants. One of my favorites is Jack Stack BBQ, it is a newer name to KC BBQ but is very good. We have also fallen in love with Smoke House BBQ. These are all great BBQ and you can't go wrong with any of them. I would recommend going to one of the traditional places as well as one of the new restaurants on the scene of KC BBQ.

And finally Go Royals! The BBQ at the stadium is OK but not up the the standards of the places listed above.

Have a great trip!
