Lurked around here for a while, now that my smoker is being delivered today, figured may as well sign up.  Did lots of reading on smokers while here, had some incentive money on an online store to clear out post employment termination, so settled on the masterbuilt 30 propane smoker with dual doors, was limited on choices so it fit the bill best...and essentially was free! (thanks anheuser busch).

 

seems first thing to do with this smoker is go get a cast iron pan to replace the oem chip tray, so going to go do that while impatiently waiting for the fed ex truck to get here.  New to smoking but should be fun learning experience.   generally grill tri tips at least once a week, so cant wait to experience the difference of not bootlegging a foil packet with chips lol.  got one rubbed down earlier waiting to be smoked.

Tri tip came out aheffingmazing. Minimal issues for its maiden run. Couldnt squeeze 11" ci skillet so used cheap pie trays to sit on tip of oem chip burner. Blew away any other Tri tip ive ever made. To the wardens liking, did go bit longer than most would like
