Canada has 2 weeks left to get its food safety act together ....

I'm confused....   The USDA will stop allowing food from Canada, yet, allow fish from China, Vietnam, Cambodia etc. where fish is grown in rivers like the Mekong River !!!!!   Millions of people live on the Mekong River in boats...  the river is the sewer...  I have read where fish is processed using formaldehyde due to lack of refrigeration...   honey has corn syrup added to increase profits....

IMO, there is a system failure, of some sort, that boggles the mind....

I wonder how much Canada exports to the US.

I don't think I ever remember seeing "Country of origin, Canada" on any fresh or frozen food.

Kettle met pot.

USDA can't close a US plant that produces salmonella chicken.

CFIA's budget has been slashed by the prev gov. Hopefully the service level is restored soon.

I am buying a lot less store meat lately.

I had a large answer all typed in and deleted it, reminding myself this is a smoking forum and not a political forum.

Simply put, the US doesn't fear problems with Canada.
