My name is John. From central Texas. Been reading the threads on here for the past few days. Really enjoying the wealth of knowledge you guys have on tips, tricks, and mods. I recently picked up a Old Country Wrangler from Academy. It's a huge step up from my large charbroiler without the FB. I seasoned it the day I got it. I plan on firing it up this weekend and just play with the temps and fire management. I just pick up a couple of rows of seasoned oak from a local guy. Can't wait to get started!
Thanks for having me!

Welcome from Sunny Arizona. And yep, this is a great place to learn or for some of us re-learn the fun of smoking. I had an old Cookin Cajun smoker years ago....and it finally died about 5 years ago. Waited till a couple years ago to get back into smoking with a regular (if there is such a thing as regular) smoker, after I got tired of trying to indirect smoke on my gas grill. Sure glad I did.

As I always say: "Smoke 'em if you got 'em" grilling_smilie.gif

Welcome from SC, John. It's good to have you on this great site. There are lots of really good folks here who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading. I hope you will enjoy your Wrangler.I looked at them a couple of years ago and think they're a really good smoker.

Good luck and good smokin', Joe
