Hi Dennis,
That's a great looking build for sure. I have a couple of questions for you. 1) Did you put any venting in the floor area to create draft? 2) Have you attempted to do controlled heat runs? Have you got steady 220 temps held for more then 3 hours? Or even lower temps.
I was looking over your build and could not see any additional drafts to bring in cool air. Your build is kind of like my food warmer / proofer build posted in Other Builds on the forums. To manage my temp I had to add more draft.

Sorry for my delay in responding.  I missed this.

Yes I added a 4" booster fan below the burn pot.  This works great.  I was able to hold temps at 170 no problem with it on.  The other benefit that I found is using my water pan locks the temperatures in.  I put in the water pan early and I couldn't get the temp over 250.  Even though the temp showed over 500 below the water pan.  So now I get it up to temp and then insert the water pan.  Now it's solid.

I have another video I will post later today too.

That is a really nice build. I got a Kelvinator that will be pellet fired with the Jen-wine -Jerry also.

I just joined the forum because I was wanting to build a vintage refrigerator electric smoker myself . How did those that have built them deal with possible lead paint?

1st long cook, getting my butts just right.

Hey Dennis I'm new to smoking meat forum liked your build of refrigerator smoker. I purchased a digital pellet hopper from smoke daddy and decided to build a smoker to. Can you advise what type of primer and paint you used for the finishing of smoker. I just want to know if I'm purchasing the correct paint.
