Smokin My first meat today

Smoking for the first time today and had a question on temp control. Do you control with burner setting only ?  And how and when should I adjust dampers?  I am using a gas Smoke Hollow pro series. And I will post pictures later

Chris, I am a stick burner and don't know anything your style of smoker. There should be someone along soon who can help.
