Finally a free day... 1st time in 8 weeks I fired up the drum. Local butcher always has nice baby backs, 3.99 a lb but oh well. Decided to try out a new heat diverter with holes in it instead of the solid one I have always used before. That and I may have a bad probe on my maverick, reading 20 lower than the thermo on the drum, and before that were always within a few degrees. Got all excited prepping and cooking , so I forgot photos

I would trust the maverick before the thermo in the uds but a simple boiling water test will prove which is right.

I hate to be the one to say this BUT!

Well I may have gotten the probe wet when I cleaned it last time, had to put in a 200 degree oven to dry it out. Probably should get a new probe to be safe

Don't fret too much over the $4.00 baby backs, their as high as $5.00 at the rich mans stores around here.

New probe is not a bad idea.  Your likely to need it sooner or later even if your original turns out to be OK.
