Hi i am Joe from San Antonio. Just got a Char Griller 580 pellet grill last weekend. I have been grilling and smoking almost forever and wanted something I could walk away from and do other stuff while it cooks. So far this is what I was looking for. I cooked a brisket last weekend and it was great. I need to play with the P settings as it could have used a little more smoke. But it was very tender and the taste was good. I have some wild hog chops on right now and while I have cooked a ton on pork chops this is my first time with the wild ones.Anyway I have an offset and a gas grill so now I have the bases covered.

Welcome Joe, glad to have ya join us ! Congrats on the new smoker, I've got a GMG pellet smoker & really enjoy it ! The GMG gives us a great smokey flavor, but that's a personal preference for sure... We all taste things different. The not enough smoke flavor is actually quite a common comment from pellet grill users... Welcome from SC, Joe from another Joe. It's really good to have you on this great site. San Antonio is one of our favorite places. We like the food, the scenery of downtown and especially he Riverwalk with all of the really nice restaurants.
