Temperature problems

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

As you can guess I am new to smoking and finding keeping my temperature up a bit of a problem. I have a foxhunter vertical smoker and I am struggling to get it to settle over 175...... Any tips or tricks? I am from the uk so the outside temperate is far from ideal but really couldn't wait to try out my new smoker. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciate. 😊

Hi Jak, Welcome to our "Family" and "Addiction"

Plenty of good folk on here, ask any questions you can think of, and you will get your answers.

Pictures of your smoker will help to see if we can spot any problems.

Please take time to look at the UK Smokers Forum,

And introduce your self on the UK Roll Call

We have had our 2nd UK Smokes weekend, where members attend and cooked over the weekend, dates and plans are already in place for 2016. Please use the link below to view the website.

Welcome to the site Jak.  I'm not familiar with your smoker but did find a link to Foxhunter at Amazon.

Does this look like your smoker?

If so;  I don't see anything inherently wrong with it.  Was it windy while you were having trouble with your temperatures?

I assume that your charcoal was good quality and dry?

Hi Jak just looked at the link to your smoker.

On the bottom half, is there any control air vents similar to the ones n the lid?

I think the fire is starved of Oxygen.
