This year like all the others our family had a great time on Christmas.  The main thing was being together and all in good health.  That is always the most important part of Christmas and we thank God for that every day.  The only thing missing this year was the homemade German dumplings. Not enough time to make them.  So we had mashed potatoes instead.  We had a 12 pound prime rib that I made and a Dolly Pardon size turkey breast that my son-in law made.  Got him into smoking about a year ago and he's doing well.  That breast was very juicy and tender like a butchers heart.  Best I ever had.  Prime rib turned out good also.  Did the prime rib in the oven while the son-in law smoked the turkey.  Pulled the prime rib at 128 and let it rest for about 20 minutes.  Sliced it up and put the slices in some au jus.  Pulled the Turkey breast at 170.  It was put in a brine for 24 hours before smoking.  Awesome.  Had Mashed potatoes, brussle sprouts with bacon, and my German kraut with bacon as sides.  Here are some pics:  Reinhard

Prime rib all seasoned up.

Prime rib came to the internal of 128 so it's ready to rest under foil.

Turkey breast came out of the smoker at 170.

The prime rib came out real nice.

Another view of the prime rib.

Have to say this was the best turkey breast I have ever had. Great job by my son-in law.

Slice of prime rib, turkey breast. brussle sprouts, German kraut, and mashed potatoes.
