Here I sit, talking to all you fine folk on this Christmas Holiday smoking a turkey breast on my gas weber grill for the family coming over later on today and longing for the day I get to use my new, REAL smoker.  Merry xmas all!

I have been researching smokers for the past few months and what I have come up with is I definitely want a charcoal smoker and I've narrowed it down to the Backwoods brand and probably a Chubby model priced around a $1000.  I have looked at all the different types (stick, charcoal, pellet, gas, electric) and I relate most to a charcoal it seems.  I have also looked at cooking space, how much space I would use, reviews on different brands, versatility, added features, etc.

What I am looking for is a review on my decision.  Any feedback on the brand (not necessarily the model) of smoker I've chosen and also if you have anything else to add that I might have missed.  Maybe a better brand for the money, options I didnt think of, etc?

Looking forward to hearing from novices (like me) who just got their 1st real smoker to the competitors/legends and everyone in between.

Thank you all and again, have a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas RPerrin!  The Backwoods Chubby looks like a GREAT smoker.  If I ever upgrade from my WSM a cabinet smoker is what I'll choose.  Looking forward to seeing your first smoke when you finally get it.

Have fun!
