I lit her up and she ran great! It took about an 3/4 of an hour for the main smoker to reach 220-240 and once there because of the thick steel maintained a steady temp for some time.

I put up the heat and had some welds let go on the big firebox outer shell  i think because i had ground them down too much trying to make it pretty.Easily repairable.

Awesome build so far, im going to be doing a 200gallon trailer over the winter, i have to make a couple 60 gallon rf smokers first to pay for the beast. Im also in Ottawa and have a little welding shop if you need anything, let me know..

Thanks for the kind words

I fired it up twice to start seasoning it and on the second burn some of my welds on the larger fb shell split,i was trying to make my not so nice looking welds look good but i took too much off with the grinder.A quick re weld and i think its good to go.   

I am finally going to get to cook with it this weekend so we will see it the food tastes as good as the pit looks.

Run a deep grove with the grinder then you will end up with a prettier and stronger weld.

Nice work, i kept looking for an image with one of those huge cranes to lift that thing onto the trailer. It looks like a HUGE BEAST!
Congrats on the work, your metal work skills are a lot better than mine. :o)
