I know, crazy coincidence, being in the new poster forum and all.
I just picked up a MasterBuilt 30" electric smoker on a pre-Black Friday deal on Amazon and I'm probably half-way to Gout City now. My wife had to declare the brisket I made verboten for a few days so it'd last a week, and the pulled pork I did while I was on vacation from the brisket is almost gone already too.
Tonight I'm heating the smoker to do some chicken breast as a red meat respite. Should be hitting temp about the time I finish this post. Mesquite wood, some premade "Jerk" seasoning mix I got in a multi-pack at Sam's Club, lemon juice and water for the water pan. Should be amazing.
Anyhow, I'm a 20something from Pittsburgh, I've been grilling propane most of my life, my wife got a charcoal grill as a holiday gift at work last year (Year before? I don't remember) and this just seemed like the most natural extension of my cooking arsenal. I wanted to go whole hog and get the $800 Traeger pellet smoker with all the bells and whistles but this seemed like a less argument causing compromise at $150 (plus $30 in wood chips and then I got the cold smoker accessory for $50 and....)
I'm not sure what else to say about me, I'm pretty boring.
