Is there an easier way to get my gas smoker up to temperature?!?!?

What happened to the original regulator that came with the smoker?

That and a needle valve is all; you need. Don't try to complicate things.

When it comes to gas it is never Quick and Easy ....Think Correct. the link you provided appears to not have the needle valve. as said above go back to the original (MFG provided) regulator and then place the needle valve in line. as I try to teach all my guys the fastest and best way is to take the time the first time to do it right..... then done once (least amount of expense) and Moving On, Just my Thoughts

I was going to take the needle valve and hose off of the bayou classic and put it on the non-adjustable regulator that I put the link to? It seems like a pretty solid fix

I had that type needle valve that came off an old fryer I had.  I was able to use it with a few fittings from Home Depot.  Just cracking the propane tank valve won't help, the regulator will deliver the pre-set pressure since it is down line from the tank valve.  When I use my Char-broil Vertical smoker, I get it to just above the cooking temp I want and then adjust it down or up slightly once the meat hits the rack to get to my 225 or desired temp.  I also recommend a digital remote thermometer since the thermometers that come with most of these are junk and very inaccurate.

I've since replaced the original needle valve with one I got thru Amazon.  Just go to their site and search for "needle valves".  Mine came in a Bayou Cooker package, but it's pretty generic and branded by several other companies too.

This how mine is set up, except now with the new needle valve.
