Hi Woody, does your smoker have any flap that covers the halfpie cut out in the fire box to control the smoke and heat? I saw one like that. Thanks, Pat
Hey pat. I just wanted to add to my last post. Right now I am smoking some cheese

Now I am truly convinced you don't need a flap or dampener between the FB and CC. It's holding temps steady at 80 deg left to right. I'm a true believer in DaveOmak's calculator.
Thanks Woody...   The members here helped develop the criteria for a great smoker...   It was a universal effort to make stuff work correctly...    I'm glad you have mastered the intricacies of air flow and heat balance....  Great Job......   Dave

It's been a little slow going lately but I did manage to work on the RF plate a little. Here's the lip on the end with the drain hole

And the drain tube installed

Did you mount your drain directly to the hole in the RF plate or do the juices drain into the bottom of the tank first?

I like how you bent the RF plate.  Were you able to bend it by hand after you scored the bottom?

My drain tube goes all the way up to my RF plate.

Yes I was able to bend it easily but not by hand (I jumped on it). If you set it on blocks on the floor just a tad higher than what you want it to drop, it works pretty good. It will bend right where you score it. Crude but it worked Lol

I know this is an older post. But do u remember where u got the caster wheels? I will probably have more questions as I am building mine. Thanks for ur time.

I apologize for the delay. I just saw this now. I just got them at Northern tool. They have a pretty large selection at our local one here. Good luck on the build. I’ll look for it

No problem and thanks. I have since decided to go the golf cart wheels and tires. I found a used set in good shape for cheap local. Again I do appreciate you responding.
