Great looking bird.  Sorry to hear about the hand.   Did ya write up the incident report on that yet?

I just smoked my first turkey this afternoon.   I'm still a noob with smoking meats, but I aspire to do get good at this before I die :)

I suppose I could take the easy way out and buy one of these automated pellet feeders, but for now the craigslist special WSM will have to do.

well, the timer just went off....its time to go slice the bird.

Time, patience, and practice... Also, keep notes! You won't remember everything.

This is the place to ask questions as well. None of us knew how to do it when we first started.

Share some bird pics too!

Thanks,  I took some pics, will create a new post in the general forum so as not to sidetrack this.

Just finished dinner, in short - it was good!

Looks sweet, now where'd ya steal that bite from? I can't see it and we all know you did it!
I never showed the birds back...

Thanks Dave.

Thus far, I haven't had any issues with the netting sticking.  But, all of the birds are brined/cured and stay pretty moist on the exterior.  Now that I say that, the bird I make on Saturday will probably stick!
