I have another thread on hear started about my build, but I was curious about what some of you have done to your handles on your smokers.  I realize some of you have not fixed up the outside of your smokers, and left them as is, but I am going to fix mine up.

I have tried 0000 steel wool, tin foil, and chrome polish on my handles and other chrome pieces.  It helps, and it re-chroming is too expensive or not an option, this may work.  It at least make the chrome shiny, it just has "spots".

So besides re-chroming and polishing as is, what other methods have you used to fix up the handles/chrome?

The handle on my project fridge is pretty pitted too. Like you, I really don't want to spend the money to re-chrome it. I'm planning to hit it with automotive spot putty to fill the pits and paint it.

I requested a quote from two companys, one just emailed me and said ballpark $450....wow.  That's a negative ghostrider.  If it was less than $100 maybe, but not that.  Looks like a buffing wheel it is.
