I need some of those seeds. I can abuse my garden sometimes.

I always have quart jar full of hot peppers and vinegar in the frig I add a couple spoons full to veg beef soup or over greens or what ever. Vinegar gets low just add more to the jar this will last along time.

If its in a pot move it inside this winter it will keep growing in a sunny window
Its proved itself and become part of the family now. Its with all the catcus, flowers, and other plants which have no other purpose that making a smile.

Canada > Roundup

Pro tip: If the chili is too hot, dairy will put the fire out the quickest. The alcohol in the beer actually bloomed the heat in your friend's palate.

I make a 5 chili infused chocolate and cayenne is only third hottest of the chilies I use. The bird eye and habaneros are only slightly hotter.

I just have never been able to Jalapenos, I believed all though who called me a titty baby but I found out its not the 'Heat", its the pepper taste that gives me heartburn. I like peppers, just not jalapenos.

Your plants look great :+}. I'm seeking a resolution to some bugs i have on my plants. Not sure if i should use pesticides or spray of some kind. They r green that just seem to slowly crawl & some others flying like mosquitoes...any advice ? Ray

I've never been a fan of jalapenos either. The taste just isn't appealing to me. Most other varieties I can eat all day. I'm the "official" tester for a friend's farm that grew 80 unlabeled varieties of chilies this summer. Some were amazing, some were like biting the top off a Duracell. Lucky me, being a freak of nature, I don't receive the heat component from chilies, or the heartburn.

I'm sure your cayenne wouldn't survive around here. For the second year, the drought has everything so dry, the chipmunks ate my naga(ghost) and scorpion j's down to nubs, for the moisture. I hope it burned all the way, including out their little rear ends.

Seven dust! Never fails. My father used it when ya filled a hand pump atomizer, now every Feed & Seed and Walmart has 'em. If I am gonna eat it, and it doesn't need a tractor to work it, its dusted. Should solve your problems with the leaf eaters. Mosquitos, if you live here, you should already own a handgun for mosquitos, I like the 4 shot 410 pistol since I am getting older and not quite as quick as I used to be.

Try the seven dust, I think it will solve what ails ya.

You know ya sound like a farmer, Dave is the farmer! LOL..... you can look at where something is grown and sumise a lot about it. Cayenne, the state pepper of Louisiana. They really like water. I have kept the pan under the pot full and this plant does like 3 gallons a week. That's amazing! Anything else would be water rotted and dead.

When I lived in SE N.M. I would travel over to LasCruzes and/or Hatch each year for their chili festivals. OMG that is amazing! If its a chili, its there in mass quantities for sale!

I am not a big chili eater, its a huge misconception that spicy foods are hot. Spicy foods are spicy. Then there is Hot & Spicy. Spicy does not mean hot. When I cook, unless as you say I am cooking for a target niche, I cook with great restraint. I want everyone to be able to eat and love what I cook, and if they want hot, there is pepper and pepper sauces available. I want you all to be able to enjoy the food.

Great story, pretty neat when you grow stuff from seeds you have grown.  A quick story. This summer after the garden was done I pulled up all the old plants and weeded it and let it sit for a month or so, When I tilled it for my fall garden I noticed after a couple of weeks when my seeds started breaking through that I had Tomato plants everywhere. Just from the tomatoes that droped on the ground and got tilled in.  I love it
