Black high temp RTV?

Thread Starter

Hi,

I need to seal up my Brinkmann and see a lot of folks using red permatex. I'd sure rather use something black. Is there such an  item available?

Thanks

The black Permatex is rated at 500°, while the red is rated for 650°.  Not a huge difference, but where you plan to use it may be the kicker...

Look here for details.

Rutland makes a black 2000 degree sealant for fireplaces. You can find it at Sears. It requires you to heat cure it 450 degrees for 1 hour.
