I recall from prior posts that you said the fabricator has been, and continues to be, great to work with.  Out of curiosity, was the shipper one of his choosing or yours?  In either case, it may be worth a call to your county's courthouse, give them your scenario, and find out what's involved in filing a small claims court action against the shipper.  This may light a fire under all concerned to get you taken care of as quickly as possible.  I know your builder is going to bat for you, and this isn't a good reflection on him, especially if he's the one who chose the shipper.  However, I would let both know that if you're not made whole within a couple of weeks, you'll be left with no recourse other than to begin with legal proceedings.  My $0.02: good luck.
I've definitely thought about that but the headquarters for the shipper is California.  I'm in NJ.  not sure how that works.  My fabricator who I found here through recomendations has done everything he could to help.  He thinks it's a few more weeks.  I'm willing to give it that.  In the mean time, I have to order something.  I contacted Yoder Smokers.  They said minimum 4 months.  They also said if I need modifications I go the bottom of the list and it would be over 5 months.  This has been a frustrating experience when it should have been a fun exciting experience.  Either way I will give it about 2 more weeks.  Then I'm going to see what other choices I have available to me.  I was going to mention better Business Bureal.  not sure what that will do.  Wish me luch

You're right, Rob:  what should have been a really fun, exciting experience has turned into the smoker from hell.  You may still have recourse with the shipper, even if they're domiciled in CA:  worth a call or two to the courthouse to get it straight from the horse's mouth since they're doing business in NJ.

Definitely worth a phone call.
