So I cut and fitted my piping on my double barrel build yesterday before the rain set in.  I am planning on using gasket rope for the lid seals but am more curious about what's the best option for sealing the pipe to barrel connection?  Since the pipe is stationary it shouldn't be a problem cementing the joints for a solid seal, but unsure if I want to mess with trying to get it to cure properly.

I've been reading that gasket rope is the consensus for lid seals but what about sealing/securing pipe joints?  cement or silicon?
