My name is Bob and I'm located in southeast part of Virginia. I started with a Brinkmann vertical smoker about 20 years ago.Did OK. Never had any complaints except for the one time my mother-in-law called my smoked turkey dry. Don't think I've ever forgiven her for that. The old smoker gave out about 5 or 6 years back and I've been without ever since. I am ready to get a new one. I'm looking at another Brinkmann Gourmet smoker, the Trailmaster offset vertical, or Trailmaster offset horizontal. I think the vertical appeals to me because I'm used to it and it costs under $100. Right now I'm wavering between the other two but leaning towards the offset vertical. If anybody has any advice please share. I do know that whichever I get I'll need to do some mods to it. Hopefully we'll be smoking up the neighborhood before too long.

Welcome from SC, Bob. This is a great site with lots of folks who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading.

Good luck and keep on smokin', Joe
