Hi, all. I've only been smoking meats for a few weeks, so I'm a real newbie. I recently purchased my first smoker and am greatly enjoying learning how to use it. I chose a LandMann Smokey Mountain series electric smoker mainly because it was on clearance from Costco. I know you don't get quite that nice of a flavor from electric compared to charcoal, but being a beginner I really appreciate the set it and forget it aspect of the electric. I've already been told by more than one person that the pulled pork that comes out of that thing is the best they had ever eaten. Talk about building confidence for a newbie. This one holds a nice steady 225º pretty consistently and reads pretty close to what my new iGrill2 probes show. I also have a Weber Smokey Joe Platinum that I have only recently started to use. Since I usually only grill for my wife and I, the little Smokey Joe seems to be big enough for our needs. Here's a few pictures of the smoker to get a better idea of what I"m working with. Click on the pics for the full size deliciousness! Anyway, thanks to everyone on the forums here for helping make this such a useful place.

Ken, welcome to SMF!  We're glad you are here with the new smoker and already putting it through its paces.  There are a LOT of folks here with electrics so feel loud and proud about what you create in that baby!

Have fun!
