Sorry bout quantity and quality, computer has been sick all a couple a days, its just a bad day, everything that could screw up did. The camera's batteries started low and got worse, I had a rock in my shoe, the sun was in my eyes while trying to cook, etc etc etc.......
Ok, Pop said last week he'd had all the other red neats he could stand he needed BEEF!
Called the butcher (she's back to being butcher again store manager involved too many people. She sent me a couple a steaks at the T-Bone sale price. 7 lbs. of beef at 6.99/lb custom cut and the T's really look more like P's.
Steaks
Wait, I wanta show ya that old tray.... When I was a kid it was "The" tray in the house, now I think its pretty neat like the old Coco~Cola trays. Nice isn't it!
I set a fire in the little pit (chuckles, it was almost to small for the two steaks), and rubbed the steaks. Shuffles thru the pictures looking for a rub with the magic black dust! That's Tatonka for anyone who has not tried it. If you have not yet tried it, don't waste your time get some. Its better on beef steaks than Caramel would be! And don't get me started on caramel again!
Its easy, Tatonka & Butter, it just doesn't get any better. Sure before its cooked, it looks sorta weird BUT after it cooked its mighty tastee! Believe me, I have been to three goat ropin's and a State fair, seen it all!
This pit affectionately know as "Mighty Moe" as grilled more chickens than the new fake Col. Sanders has eaten! Oh yeah, back to Moe.
FYI, I shouldn't say this but Moe was galvanized 40+ years ago and has been making great food for all that time. Course all my babies were born nekkid! <chuckles>
But remember, do use galvanized pits, the government says its bad for you. Moe sat in the back of my pickup long ago during my construction years. It holds 2 chickens halved perfectly. It was my first shot at wielding too!
Moving right along.......... Just above that pit, is my gang colors!
So it's steaks on the Barbie!! Do those steaks look happy or what? If we were in a movie Drive Inn theater, I would expect 'em to jump up and start dancing and singing, "Lets go out to the lobby!"
That's some fine smelling smoke, the charcoal I dumped pecan shells on .... that smoke!
Bear-View? Pictures today are really lousy!
Steak, baked potato (loads of butter), there is a salad there somewhere, and garlic bread. So I figure we'll be eating steaks tomorrow and the next day...>LOL
I don't work for Tatonka but its one of the best beef & steak rubs/spices I have ever had. Ask your mate to remember a bag when no one knows what you want for Christmas. Its good stuff.
OK, break is over now back into the computer!
Thanks for dropping by.......
