Few weeks ago bought a Brinkmann offset vertical Trailmaster limited edition.
Made mods as recommended here as i was assembling using high heat food grade rtv and nomex tape. No leaks.
Have had 2 successful cooks filling all cooking racks both times. I primarily use wood for fuel.
Monitor food and cooking chamber with a Maverick.
I babysat smoker all day adjusting intake and exhaust, adding wood, or placing a fan pointing at intake on firebox.
I need help and/or input on a temp controller. Will the BBQ Guru Party Q supply enough airflow for this smoker?

Hey Gary.  Welcome to the site.  Congratulations on your new smoker.  Sorry that I don't have an answer for your question about the Guru.

You might get more answers to that question if you start a thread with the question in the topic heading.

Good luck.

Hi Gary and welcome aboard from another Oklahoman!  What part of the state is home?  I'm smack in the middle of Green Country, a bit east of Tulsa.

I used to cook on a New Braunfels offset pit that was pretty similar to your Trailmaster in design and build quality...worked my butt off keeping steady temps in that thing.  Thin gauge metal and lots of air leaks makes temp control a constant battle.  I don't know much about those BBQ Gurus...never tried one myself.  Maybe some of the other offset pit owners over in the wood smoker threads will be more help.

Enjoy the fun here at SMF, and happy smoking!  Thumbs Up

Think I will go with the Auber Instruments controller that regulates pit temp only.
Seems to be best price, service, and return policy.
