My name is Kevin. I live in South Carolina, but hail from Ohio/West Virginia. I am new to smoking, but mainly want to start smoking because I have always wanted to make my own summer sausage and jerky from deer that I harvest. As of now, I do not have a smoker. I am still considering my options. I am interested in building a Mini-WSM mainly because I like to build things rather than buy them. I have also looked at an MES-30 due to its convenience and ease of use. I have been a lurker on this forum for about a week and have learned plenty which has really got me excited to start smoking and not just sausage or jerky, but many other things as well. My main interests consist of hunting, fishing, golf, NASCAR, and Ohio State Football.
