Anyone ever get tired of smoked meat, eating it making it? Feel selling ur smoker and wood supply?feel burnt out on whole process?

No, because I mix it up. I don't eat smoked food every day. I do a lot of cooking all over the realm of foods, ethnicities, etc.

Smoking is just one arrow in my quiver.

Eating the same thing all the time gets boring no matter what the food is.

Same as Chef. Not every meal has to be smoked.
Maybe once or twice a week.
But throw some verity in. Try not to always do the same thing.
Fatties are good for variety as they are very personal and very easy to do..

Never!  Like the others, I break it up and make LOTS of other things.

For example, this week I'm doing the following things that the bride requested.

Cured pork chops grilled

Roasted chicken (whole, on the grill) (brining now)

Posole

Meatloaf

Fatty on Friday night so we can have it for a hangover cure, I mean breakfast, on Saturday.

We have a great agreement, I cook, she cleans!

Not me.  Doing it at least once a week.  Really enjoying it.  Even more so when entertaining guests.  People love it.  Start making some sausage to mix things up.

My smoker will be packed away over the winter.  It will make spring smoke time even more sweeter.

Nope. With a variety of things that I do it's no different than cooking regular meals.. only better.  I never get tired of seeing the smile on my family's faces or the muffled noises of approval they make with their mouth full of what ever it is I make.  I usually do something a couple times a week through out the entire summer and maybe a bit less in the winter when the extreme cold hits.

I was very curious! Alas, it is a wonderful name for a roulade! I just did a deer tenderloin roulade a few weeks ago. I guess I should have shared it here!

I love the menu Cranky, and like you, DW and I have the same arrangement.

I love my smoker but I would get real sick of it if I ate smoked meat even once a week.  We usually eat "healthy" during the week.  Sunday is my one day to cook whatever I want and there are so many things I like to cook.  I probably only get the smoker fired up about once a month and, even then, it's not always traditional BBQ.  I know guys who eat brisket for breakfast . .I'm just not one of them, lol.

Not me but the wife is cracking! Luckily she'll still eat chicken and tri tip, no pork smoked or not and no brisket which sucks as I like to turn some into hash and top with eggs for breakfast!

. I found that it is very time consuming and once I stopped drinking all alcohol 2.5 years ago I don't have the time I used to.

I do have the desire but not the wear withal . I crave pulled pork often.

Once in a while i feel like not smoking at all so i don't. i have taken as much as a whole month off before but when i fire that smoker back up i remember how much a love it. I dont smoke quite as often in the cooler months maybe twice a month 3 times at most but its still awesome to do. If you are getting bored with the same old brisket and Pulled pork then get the newsletter and try some of Jeff's recipes. emails them out on Thursdays and there is awesome stuff most don't take but a few hours to make. I do a lot of smokes but most aren't longer than 3-6 hours at a time. i do long smoke when I'm really feeling it.

Happy Smoking,

phatbac (Aaron)

Buy a new/better smoker.

Excitement over the new toy. New learning curve to get it to do what you want it to do. Modifications that may need to be done.

Win/win situatition.

As with fishing and hunting, smoking meat and making sausage are ways that I decompress from a busy work/travel schedule in a high stress environment.  Luckily they all tie together and compliment one another.  I have Canadian Bacon finishing it's cure on Thursday and my nephew has 2 deer he wants me to teach him to process into various types of sausage over the weekend.

I don't smoke as much as I did when I could get around better.

This gives Mrs Bear a chance to use her Crock Pot.  She made a Chucky in it on Saturday, and we've been eating some Fine Hot Roast Beef with Gravy Sammies. (One of my All Time Favorites)

Cooler weather is setting in and we as well are looking forward to the stews, crock pot and soups. you can still fire up the smoker here and there, smoked hocks for the beans or split pea soup

I don't get to smoke to often due to business,so when I do it a good day for me. I get a few request sometimes that I have to take care of,Like my grand daughter ask for Baby backs, baked beans, smoked baked taters, and my smoked cabbage B-day.I guess the wife will have to run the store while I cook.LOL

Me, I never get tired of smoked anything. Now I do have to take a break every so often to keep my wife happy, We did a crock pot pork roast yesterday.

I do all kinds of stuff and usually smoke once or twice a week.

You can get burned out on anything (except Budweiser). The Mrs. let me know a couple of weeks ago she was tired of "smoked stuff". That's ok; It's starting to be too cold now anyway. Time to give it a rest 'til spring. Until then, I've discovered sausage making (woe is me) and she's into it! You don't have to do something daily or weekly or whatever. I don't ride the motorcycle much anymore, but it's there when I feel like it. Same with the smoker. Don't get rid of it; just use it when you feel like it!
