For those out there that are grinding your own hamburg, I have a simple question.

What cut (and why) do you use to make your hamburg??

I am looking for the "general purpose" hamburg here, not hamburg you may grind for some special dish.

I have tried a couple different cuts, mostly the bigger chunks from Cash & Carry, that actually have multiple cuts included.

Just curious to know, so maybe I can try that cut/chunk in the future.

Chuck or Clod Primal makes good burger... fair amount of fat... and there are some good steak cuts you can get from it... and stew meat...

I like to grind chuck roasts.  The main reason is that they seem to have a good fat to meat ratio and taste great.

When my local store has them on sale, I buy as many as I can, or as they will allow.  Sometimes they limit you to 2-4.
