Question for Camp Chef Owners

Curious as to how happy you are with your camp chef pellet grills? My father purchased a Traeger at COSTCO in May during their road show. He is not happy with temp. Temp swings of 50+ degrees. When he called Traeger CS, they told him that was normal. He recently looked at a Cabelas Pellet grill which I have been told is a re-badged Camp Chef. He is considering buying one of these. For you camp chef owners, what do you like about your grill and what do you wish was different or could use improvement? Would you make the same purchase again or go with a different brand in the $799 range.

For that money, I'd be getting a GMG Jim Bowie. Or for a little more a rec-tec

I think we are going to look at GMG's at a local dealer.  Curious as to why would you choose GMG's over Camp Chef?

Tons of reviews. Mostly positive. Customer support is one of my main concerns, and everyone raves about gmg and rec-tec CS.
Gmg has dealer support. If I need a part they will have it or can get it quick. Not so sure on the camp chief as theres very few reviews.

I will have a gmg DB soon. I'm hoping there will be a end of season sale soon...

I recently bought the Camp Chef Smokepro DLX. I am pretty new to pellet smokers, but I think this smoker is great. It holds very close to what you set the temp at. It's very easy to clean the ash tray with a sliding hatch on the bottom that allows you to dump the ash into a cup that comes with the grill. There is a similar hatch that allows you to empty the hopper and change to a different kind of pellets. It comes with an internal temp probe that seems to be accurate so far. I did get mine at a very discounted price however. My personal opinion is this...I bought this at a very good price. If I were to spend the money that this grill is listed for in the camp chef catalog I would go buy a smoker that is American made. I know Camp Chef is an American company, but this grill is made in China. The only reason I bought it is because I am on a tight budget and it was very affordable on sale. That being said, I still think it's a quality smoker.
