Six, six pound Pork Butts in the 18' WSM. Is it possible?

Ok so I just bought some Farmer John Pork Butts from Smart and Final for only 99cents/lb and they are really nice. They are around 6 pounds each and I was wondering what are the most Pork Butts you've ever cooked in your 18' WSM?  The Virtual Weber Bullet says that you can smoke up to four 8 pounders but since these are a little smaller I wonder if I can do six? I would put three on the top grate and thee on the bottom. It might be a tight squeeze but I might be able to pull it off. Your thoughts?

I beat you could. Measure them and see if they'd fit. I can get two 9 pound bone in butts in my mini-WSM!

I did 4 that were all almost 10# in one shot. It was a little tight to start but they all fit and came out excellent. I would say try to "dry fit" them if you can just to make sure they aren't jammed in there.

It should work you could stand a couple on there sides if needed. We have wooden appetizer picks and I use them to make room between meats sometimes.

Can someone please post a pic of how you stood them on their side and how you used wooden sticks? That would be a big help.

This is a 12 pound turkey sitting on the grate of my 18" WSM. this turkey is bigger than a 12 pound bone in butt. I could fit four of these turkeys in there if I needed to. Yes skin would be touching, but in the end it all would taste the same. Can I assume you are planning on pulling the meat? It all gets mixed up and becomes one product correct? We need no voodoo, witchery KISS, keep it simple smoker!

Honestly the only way you'll know if it will fit is if you place the cut on the grate. Simple as that. I know I could make it work...
