Time to replace my stuffer-NEED INPUT!!

I am finally done replacing the gears on my "sausage m---r" brand stuffer and I'm looking to upgrade. The shaft is now bent as well! I make primarily snack sticks so I realize there is a lot more force involved unlike making brats and summer sausage. I don't really want a 15# unit but price aside what stuffers are you guys using in the 5 - 6 1/2# range? Brands, comments and reviews would be much appreciated!

Oh ya he's got quite the tale to tell lol. Case is gonna need this fire.gif
Do you think that will be enough water?

Here's my stuffer, super high tech and crazy expensive-

I made these with it-

I'm sure that's not what your looking for but it worked for 5lbs, probably wouldn't try 50 through there lol.

That's what I got a little funnel for, duh! :-)

It worked for me, and I worked harder for those summer sausages than most with the big fancy stuffers and they were DELICIOUS. So giggle all you want, where there's a will (and no money), there's a way!

Oh yes, and I wish you luck on your stuffer quest. :-)

A stuffer with metal gears will be suffice...IMHO DS just got a lemon but they are still good stuffers. Gander Mountain and LEM would be where I would look to....

I would recommend the Kitchener stuffer over the LEMon. I have worked in customer service my whole life and LEMS Customer service sucks! I will never buy another LEM product. Had they stood behind their product originally instead of running around in circles blaming me the consumer, I wouldn't have this opinion. The product was faulty and they did everything possible to not make it right. Once they did I had to make the repairs myself. Once I replaced the defective parts the stuffer ha worked perfectly. Quality control and imperfect machining were to blame, not me.

I have a Kitchener 5lb also, but it has the nylon gears.  I've not had any problems with it and I also stuff a lot of snack sticks.  The trick is not to bottom it out hard.  I mark my screw with a sharpie to indicate on the screw where the bottom is.  Then I have a visual cue as I stuff and can be careful with the pressure as I approach the bottom of the stuffer barrel.

I was going to buy the LEM metal gears for mine just to have them, but it appears they no longer sell them online (or at least I can't find them).

I was sooo happy to upgrade from the old family manual grinder/stuffer. I went with an LEM #5 stuffer which I like, but I have not had a problem. The #12, 3/4 hp grinder, well it is fun just to turn it on. But it was loud till I shock mounted the covers. Now it just purrs like a kitten, and I smile from ear to ear.

I also had problems with the LEM customer service when asking about a 3/4" plate. They are not very customer orientated. But the equip I have works great.

Make sure and remember to get some food grade lubricant and a tube brush whatever type you finally get.

For snack sticks, you do not want to get a stuffer bigger than 5# capacity... Kitchener or Grizzly... I use the Grizzly... about $89.... nylon gears... works well...... I even modified a 1/2" OD brass tube to do 21mm snack sticks... it has a 0.47 ID or something like that... pushes meat really easily....

I have a Lems works great! Have a 5# and a 15# trick is lube the o ring or seal well and like was mentioned earlier know where bottom of canister is!  Have also lubed tube!

Love the funnel!

I used my LEM again this weekend.  With the clamps, its easy to solo the process.  Another +1 for the LEM 5lb.  If only I could get my casings less chewy!!
